Early Offer Programs - Get Ahead Before ATAR Results
Many Australian universities, including those in Western Australia, offer 'Early Offer Programs' that allow Year 12 students to receive a conditional or unconditional university offer before ATAR results are released.
These offers can ease stress and help you plan your next steps with confidence.
All Western Australian universities accept early entries, for the majority of their courses. See university websites for more information - links below.
WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR APPLICATION
Because final ATARs aren't available until December, universities assess applicants on other evidence of potential, such as:
- Your Year 11 results
- School Reports
- Your personal statement, interview, or questionnaire responses
- Evidence of extracurricular achievements, leadership, or community involvement
- A portfolio or audition (for creative courses)
- Consideration of equity or access factors
- Evidence of Certificate courses completed or enrolled in
Most offers are conditional — for example, you may need to achieve a minimum ATAR or meet specific prerequisites. These requirements will be outlined in your offer letter.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
- Not all universities or courses offer early entry, especially competitive programs like Medicine and Dentistry.
- You may need to apply directly to the university and/or through TISC, depending on the program.
- Some universities make unconditional offers, while others are conditional on final results.
- Always read each university’s instructions carefully and submit all required documents on time.
- Even if you receive an early offer, continue to work hard — you may still need to meet academic conditions.
