Get the right financial support for your next adventure
Whether you're heading to university, TAFE, or an apprenticeship after school, it's important to be financially prepared. Services Australia (via Centrelink) offers financial assistance for eligible students and apprentices to help with the cost of living and studying.
What Support Is Available?
If you’re planning full-time study or an Australian Apprenticeship, you may be eligible for:
Youth Allowance - For students and Australian Apprentices aged 24 or under.
Abstudy - For Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students and apprentices.
Austudy - For full-time students and apprentices aged 25 and over.
Payments - Here is the link to a full list of all the different payments and loans available for students, as well as supplementary payments like Rent Assistance or the Relocation Scholarship.
Use the Payment and Service Finder to check what payments you may be eligible for, and even estimate your fortnightly payments.
HOT TIP: You can apply for student payments up to 13 weeks before your course or apprenticeship starts. Don’t wait—early applications mean you’re more likely to get paid on time.
